Day 13 of Knox’s Self Rescue Swim Lessons

He’s getting a little better each day.  He still doesn’t love swim lessons… it’s more of a work-out for him, and after the 10 minute lesson is over, he’s ready to be done.  Cindy, our instructor, has been great.  Knox no longer needs the wet suit!  He’s relaxing a little more each day, but now he’s started grabbing his hair with his right hand when he is placed in the water.  This wouldn’t be a big deal, except it can interfere with his ability to turn himself over from the face down position.  So, Cindy has given him a toy torpedo to hold onto with that hand so that he can’t grab his hair.  Seems to be working so far!  Hopefully this will help break the habit.

Play Date with Sloan

My friend Jenny brought her daughter Sloan over for a play date with Knox today.  They came over a week or so ago to swim, but we got rained out, and she was so disappointed!  So we made it happen today.  Knox was very curious and interested in just watching Sloan play with all his toys, but Sloan didn’t much appreciate when Knox would try to “help” her play.  :) 

Belly Laughs

We were folding laundry today, and somebody thought it was hilarious when I’d shake the towels out before folding them. 

It’s so funny the things that babies find entertaining.  :)  I just know I LOVE that belly laugh!  Best sound in the world. 

Happy 4th of July!

This year we had family come to our house for July 4th so we could grill out and use the pool.  I need to be better about taking pictures of everyone else, but it’s true what they say – the first born gets the most camera time.  :)  Mamaw and Knox spent some quality time together hanging out on the couch.  He’s a little squirmy these days (and built like a tank) so after a bit she had a hard time hanging on to him!  :)   Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Coughs Are Funny

Limes!

Logan’s mom was on a mission trip in Africa on my birthday, so when she got back in town, she and Mr. Len took us to dinner for my birthday.  (Worked out great for me – spread out the celebrations as long as possible!!)  We had dinner at Chuy’s, and wanted to see if Knox likes limes like his Momma does.  We can lay all doubts to rest – he is my son, and he loves those limes!! 

I definitely thought he’d make an awful face and hate them, but he kept trying to come back for more!
