Mark your calendars... We have a wedding date!

Its official! Logan and I are getting married April 17, 2010 at the Dallas Arboretum!
Last week we went with my parents and Jessica to look at the two places we had narrowed it down to: The Empire Room downtown, and the Arboretum. While The Empire Room is a nice venue, once we got to the Arboretum there was just no comparison. Everyone just looked at each other when we stepped onto the porch of Rosine Hall, and we all just knew that this was the place we should have the wedding. Loving flowers as much as I do, I couldn't be happier! And April is right in the middle of the Arboretum's Spring Blooms Festival. They plant 450,000 tulip bulbs alone every spring, so I can only imagine how beautiful it will be.

We will have the ceremony in the Jonsson Color Garden:

After the ceremony there will be a coctail hour, followed by the reception at Rosine Hall. Here are some pictures looking out from the porch of Rosine: Signing the papers to make it official! Afterwards, we went to Chuy's for some good Mexican food!
I've also started a wedding website to help keep people updated with the most current information. www.mywedding.com/lorinandlogan (Okay, really I just wanted to make a wedding website. Can you blame me? I only get to do it once!)

Mike and Leanne are "Unofficially-Official"!!

Well, they did it! Sort of... Since Mike and Leanne are getting married in Mexico, they were required to have a legal ceremony here in the US - unless they wanted their Mexican wedding to be in Spanish. So on May 25th, Mike and Leanne met with a Justice of the Peace (in Oak Cliff, which is a whole other story!) and were "officially" married! It was just the two of them, and they both say they will still count their June 13th Mexican wedding as their real wedding, but none the less, Logan and I met up with them afterwards to celebrate!

First, we met them at Capitol Grill for happy hour Stoli-Dolies. (Always delicious!) Then we went over to Trulucks for a celebration dinner. I love this picture of them during dinner.
And here's a shot of Mike (and a little of Logan) chowing down on their King Crab.
After dinner we walked over to the Ritz for drinks. Check out Leanne's Christian Louboutins!!

And here are their rings! They wore them that night, but aren't going to wear them again until their "real" wedding ceremony in Mexico. Logan and I just love these two kids, and we couldn't be happier for them. They are great friends, and we can't wait to celebrate their wedding with them in Mexico... THIS SATURDAY!!

We've got some catching up to do...

Looks like I've gotten behind on my blogging, so here is the first of several posts to update you on what's been going on!

My family had a joint celebration at the beginning of May to celebrate Logan's birthday, Jessica's birthday, and Mother's Day all in one. We went to dinner at the Olive Garden (yummm...) and then back to my parent's house for cookie cake and card playing. I'd like to take this moment to remind everyone that I WON for the FIRST TIME EVER!!!

Here are some fun pictures from that night. (I just love my family!)

Jessica and Logan showing off their cookie cake. Can you tell how much Logan likes cookie cake?
Jessica and me (sans makeup - yikes!) My parents got Logan the movie "Taken", which we'd watched the night before and he loved, as you can see. :) My dad had given a couch to Goodwill that afternoon, and in return Goodwill gave us a 10% discount coupon to their store. As a joke, we included this in one of Jessica's gifts. I personally found it hilarious. I think you can see from her face what she thought of it. :) Jessica has been working on making my dad "hip", so here they are, apparently throwing gang signs? I don't think the other deacons at church would be too pleased, Ron...
We had a great time just hanging out as a family that night. I'm looking forward to my birthday in a couple of weeks so we can do it all over again!
