Where has the time gone?? This guy has gotten so big! It has been so much fun to see more and more of his personality develop. In general, he’s pretty laid back (like his Daddy), but when he decides he wants something, he knows what he wants, and he wants it his way (like his Mommy…)! His laugh melts my heart, and he’s quite a smiley little guy. The funniest things crack him up! (And Logan and I walk around making fools of ourselves just to get him to laugh because it’s totally worth it. My, how much things have changed in just a year!) :)
At his 6 month check up, he weighed a healthy 19 lbs 8.5 ounces (80th percentile) and was 27.5 inches tall (90th percentile)!
He’s very interested in everything going on around him, so it’s getting harder and harder to catch his attention long enough to snap a good picture. Even my singing “Walk Like a Man” isn’t quite cutting it these days. (I know, hard to believe, right?!?) ;)
We’re still practicing sitting up on our own, and while he can do it for a few seconds at a time, he still plops over quite a bit.
Awww, sweet boy.
6 month baby feet! Getting bigger!
On April 22, 2012 he started blowing raspberries at us, which is really funny. I posted a video of it here.
And on April 25, 2012, the unthinkable happened: he slept all the way through the night!!!! As in 6:45 pm to 6:00 am. Granted, he hasn’t done it since, but at least now I know it’s possible! Other than that one night, he’s really pretty much down to waking up just once to eat, usually still between 1 am and 4 am. Still goes to bed at 6:45, and still tries to wake up at 5 am… but our goal is to start the day at 6 am. His naps are getting better too. He usually consistently takes an hour and a half nap around 9 am, and anywhere from a 40 minute to an hour and a half nap around 1 pm. He’s mostly dropped his 4 pm nap now.
For a while there, he was showing a preference for his left hand. He’d reach for things and hold things with that one first before passing it over to his right. But now, he uses them both pretty evenly.
I know I say this every month, but this little guy sure has captured our hearts. I can hardly remember what life was like without him in it – and I don’t really want to. :)
