Knox's First Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!!  This year was Knox's very first Halloween, and I think he had a pretty good time!  Aunt Jessica told us about McKinney's "Scare on the Square" where all the kids dress up and trick-or-treat around the cute shops on the square.  Only in Texas is it over 80 degrees on Halloween... so needless to say, Knox was a little warm in his cute Lion costume.  :)  He's obviously too young to eat the candy, so we just wandered around and watched all the other cute kiddos in their costumes.

Getting suited up!

With Aunt Jess.  :)

Not quite sure what to think about this costume thing...

Trying to get a good picture... but there was too much to look at apparently.  :)

The most handsome lion I've ever seen.  :)

We stopped by the winery to sit and watch the trick-or-treaters.

My child may or may not be dancing on the bar...

"Ta-Da!!!"

Hanging out with the clowns!  (They were only scary to me... Knox did fine...)

After Scare on the Square, we came home and went trick-or-treating at a couple of our neighbors houses.  Since Knox goes to bed so early though, several of our neighbors weren't even home yet and it wasn't quite dark.  :)

Knox's girlfriend, Harper, went trick-or-treating with us!  Harper's parents Matt and Brittany moved in across the street from us this summer, and we've loved having another baby on the street to play with!

Trying to hold hands...  So sweet!

Logan got home from work just in time for a quick family picture before we started going door to door.

I think this year I probably enjoyed Halloween a little more than Knox did, but he was a good sport and looked absolutely adorable in his costume.  I'm looking forward to next year when he'll be able to eat the candy and enjoy it a little more!

New Favorite Food...

Eggo waffles.  Hands down.  The boy would put the entire waffle in his mouth at once if he could.  Possibly the entire box.  :)

Yes, those are a winner for sure!

Knox's First Pumpkin Patch

After seeing lots of my friends' cute pictures of their kids at the pumpkin patch, I convinced Logan that we "needed" to take Knox so we could get some of those adorable pictures ourselves.  Turns out when you surround an 11 month old with an endless supply of dirt and hay to play in, and then sprinkle in a bunch farm animals and kids running around, it's next to impossible to get anything resembling a good picture!  For your enjoyment, our attempts:

Knox and me.  Not awful!

First experience with hay... Really wanted to eat it...

Loved the mini-pumpkin!

Best smile we got all day!

I do love this one of him amongst those big orange pumpkins!!

Best picture we got of Daddy and Knox.
Eating the hay...

He really enjoyed the petting zoo!  This boy loves animals!!  (We just had to keep an eye on him so he didn't eat any "pellets"... Imagine my nurse-brain digesting that one.)

All in all, we had a fun time!  I'm looking forward to next year when he's a little older and can enjoy it some more.  :)

It has been SO pretty outside lately!  I know we just tried to get some pictures like this the other day, but induldge me and enjoy another nearly identical photo shoot.  :)

He likes it... I promise... ;)

Happy 11 Months, Knox!!

Such a big boy!!  We've got lots of new milestones this month, as always!

On September 13, 2012, he started standing on his own without holding on to anything for short periods of time.  He's so proud of himself when he does this!  Just one step closer to walking!

I love this picture of him.  When did he grow up???

On September 15, 2012 I noticed him correctly stacking his plastic ring toys onto their pole.  I had no idea he could do that, but I just so happened to catch him practicing it.  (He hangs out in this pack and play while I shower every day.)  I peeked in on him and caught him doing this.  I was so impressed!

On September 22, 2012 his bottom third tooth, just left of the center one, started poking through. And on September 30, 2012 his fourth bottom tooth started showing up - this one just to the right of the center ones. Love that toothy grin! :) That same day he also started doing this funny thing where he makes the "dada" movement with his mouth, but no sound comes out. I guess he was just practicing until he was really ready, because on October 1, 2012 the sound came! He'll say "dadada", and also started clapping his hands on his own. So cute!

On October 2, 2012, I noticed him trying to see what objects fit into other objects.  He tests this with everything.  So he loves stacking cups inside each other, or putting toy balls into the cups.  He also now loves falling asleep up on my shoulder with his face in the nook of my neck.  I love that so, so much.

Look at those chubby feet!
On October 14, 2012 I noticed that he loves using his high chair as a walker.  He'll grab ahold of it and use it to walk across the kitchen... and anywhere else he can get it.  He's also really jabbering more.  Lots of "dadada" and the "tuh", "ssss" and "ga" sounds.  On October 20, 2012 he added "yayayaya" to the mix.  Cutest voice in the world!

On October 23, 2012, he took 4 small steps by himself!!  He went from holding onto the fireplace to walking over to me!  And on October 25, 2012 he took 3 small steps to the couch by himself.  Also, while we're in the car I've seen him watch himself in the mirror sticking out his tongue.  He's also learned how to "help" me put his dirty clothes away in the hamper.  Hey, start 'em young, right?!?  Back to the walking though, on October 26, 2012 he was officially walking consistently, 5 to 7 steps at a time, and by the 28th, he was gaining confidence and didn't have to have us there to catch him. So proud of this guy!

As of October 30, 2012, his favorite foods are by far Cheerios and mandarin oranges.  The boy could (and probably would) eat an entire box of Cheerios if I'd let him, and he inhales those mandarins!  His eyes just light up when he sees me getting them ready.  At least they're healthy, right??

Here he is reading.  :)  Loves his books.

On November 9th, 2012, Knox got his first haircut!!  Of course I took a ton of pictures, so I'll do an entire post about that, but he really did great!  We went to a kids specialty haircut place, and they were really sweet with him.

This picture was from after church today at El Chico for lunch.  Happy guy!
I can't believe it's already time to start planning this man's first birthday!

Playing in the Grass

Since the weather has been so nice, we've been spending some time outside lately.  Knox really liked playing with the grass... and trying to eat all the acorns that had fallen!  Yikes!

Now that's some messy hair...

Someone loves rubbing his messy lunch hands all through his hair these days!

Monroe’s 3rd Birthday Party

Our friends Jason and Laura Seymour’s little boy just turned 3 and celebrated his birthday at a playground near their neighborhood.  Knox was too young for pizza and cupcakes, but not for swinging!  :)  I didn’t get any pictures of the other kids running around, but here’s some of him swinging with Logan and me.  :)
